We all heal differently. The important thing is to work on healing yourself. The steps may have to be small and that's ok.
You can't change an abuser. Stop trying. Stop thinking if you just give them more love and patience, that it will fix them. It won't.
Stop blaming yourself. You didn't fail. You didn't fail them. You didn't do anything to cause them to be like this. You didn't break them. You aren't a terrible person.
You just tried to love someone who was a bad person. You tried to help them. You tried to see the good in them. They chose not to love you back they way you deserve to be loved
YOU deserve better. YOU deserve to be loved by someone who respects you and your boundaries. YOU deserve to be put on a pedestal just as you put them on a pedestal.
Stay safe today! I know today with the big game and alcohol probably flowing, you may have anxiety about today. It's a perfect time to start your journey of healing.
